New Beginnings

Today I went for a two-mile run on my own property. It was pretty sweet because of my surroundings. I have to get my head in the game though, because cross-country is over and now running isn't mandatory. My decision is to go running every other day. I hope it sticks.

I feel that now I've been running again, it's going to be a new place to start. I'll try not to stop when I want to and also have fun with it.

I also am aiming for running the Antarctic Half-Marathon, even if its a long shot.

I came up with an idea a while back. Marathon on the Moon. That would be pretty cool, but it would also be challenge due to the fact that participants would have to run in a space suit and that the moon's surface is hotter than boiling water.

Thanks for reading guys. Keep on running.

Did Better Today

Today, second cross country meet. Not that bad. I used my own advice and it worked, just run your own race and don't worry about the others. It worked for me, so it should work for you too.

Running is the most primal and basic exercise there is, and you just have to follow the path of your ancestors. Nowadays, we run to get in shape, for fun, or you've just gotten to that point in your life where you wonder what happens next. In the times of the earlier humans, people ran and walked for days and nights to stalk their prey. Running is just a natural process of humans. If you don't run at all you have to have a medical excuse for it, because if you walk, you run too.

Today at cross country, the coach laid out a slip n' slide at the end of the lap, so that was sweet, liquidy relief for my dry mouth. I've heard somewhere that you aren't supposed  to breathe through your mouth while your running because it stings your lungs and makes your mouth dry. I can't help it though, I try at first and then I just inhale more air than my nostrils can handle. If you're a runner try and do it anyway because it's way healthier for you. I'll see you guys later, next time I go running. Bye : )

Here's a cool running vid, check it out:

First Cross-Country Meet

Well, today I went to my first cross-country meet. It was a little hard for me. I've been running for about a year now and yet, I came in last for everything. But I'm sure my competitors have been on the team before because they were pretty fast . I won't give up though. I'm passionate about running and I've gotten used to doing it often. And it's gotten into my schedule too.

The length around the track one time is about .66 miles. I'm not sure why, but running that distance the whole way seemed painful and long. I mean, its just under a mile, I should be able to do this, right? I'm going tomorrow and I'm going to run my own race and stop when I want to stop and run when I want to run and that should probably get me through a lap without feeling pain.

The stretching and plyometrics aren't bad though. They're actually stimulating and relaxing, kind of like yoga. They are my great running release. After I do them, I don't feel as tired from the running . I will tell you guys more about my running journey after I go running next. Till then, bye :)
